Best Practices

• Always provide geocoordinates if possible – improves accuracy.
• Use PreETA only until real-time tracking is available.
• Refresh PreETA if the delivery date changes.
• Do not cache results by address since PreETA varies by delivery day and gets constantly adjusted with new data.

Testing & Validation

• Monitor for API latency and error codes.
• Validate integration with known address samples.

Known Limitations

• No prediction of exact date – relies on customer-provided delivery date. Many customers predict a day or several days of deliveries for their shipments. Since Bettermile cannot provide this information as of today, PreETA depends on getting the delivery day supplied as part of the request payload.
• Limited coverage in regions without historical delivery data.
• Contradictory data can result in no ETA being returned.
